The tannins are soft and very ripe red making this an affordable very easy to drink. Primitivo is grown from vineyards in the heart of Puglia. The wine has aromas of ripe black fruit, with hints of pepper. On the palate, the wine has a strong character, firm structure, and small black fruit and notes of licorice in the aftertaste.
If you are touring North Apulia, Daunia region is a new Italy, parts of a wine of better quality. This landscape serve as backdrop for the pastoral skills of winemakers in the region. The Itria Valley region is very picturesque, it is good to park along the road and slide down to the vineyards on slopes. Here, each vineyard has its unique character, each with a rich tradition and history. Sometimes, visitors can find a wine cellar or up in the tanks and concrete crushing stomping grapes.
Something you should know before coming here: in the Puglia Lunch is the main meal of the day, and restaurants open later than you might expect. It’s easy to fall into the habit of local and long-lunch siesta. It’s hard to eat before 20:00, but you can eat up to walk at the end along and enjoy a summer evening stroll through the streets of leave abuse.
